It's very possible that you won't have to go. Dad had the same thing happen for him (maybe not his actual bday, but damn close) and he called and his group wasn't called. He took the day off for nothing. It's kinda interesting to go to the courthouse though. :-) Maybe they'll let you go cause it's your bday and you'll be preoocupied ;-)
Being the political lover you are, you should consider this an honor. You will get to do something good for your country/state/city, another reason we are a free country, a great country. So suck it up birthday girl!
